Japanese distributor CFD Sales has told wholesale customers that Gigabyte graphics cards will cost 20 to 40 percent more for orders placed from August 1, 2026, with the exact increase depending on the model.
The notice, published on CFD’s CFD-BIZ wholesale platform, means affected products will sell at 120 to 140 percent of their previous prices. CFD did not release a list of the specific cards involved, and the announcement does not say whether the increases cover GeForce, Radeon, or Intel Arc lines; Gigabyte builds all three.
More worrying for buyers with outstanding orders: CFD warned that some orders placed earlier may not be honored at the prices originally quoted. The distributor said it would reach out to affected buyers case by case, and that orders it can no longer source at the old prices may end in cancellation talks. Not every pending order is at risk; each case depends on supply and on Gigabyte’s revised pricing.
Japan is the second market in the region to see this kind of movement within days. South Korea saw GeForce RTX 50-series prices rise by roughly 30 percent on average between late July and early August, according to Danawa listings tracked by industry observers, with stock levels and distributor decisions driving the jump.
CFD-BIZ serves corporate buyers, so the notice does not confirm that every Japanese retailer will apply the same increases; what ends up on shelves will depend on existing stock, store margins, and individual distributor decisions. But the pattern is consistent with a market under sustained pressure. Component costs, GDDR7 pricing, and AI demand have all been pushing consumer GPU prices upward, and the trend shows no sign of reversing.
