OnePlus is preparing to withdraw from the United States and European smartphone markets this week, according to a report from German publication WinFuture, in what would be one of the biggest strategic reversals for the BBK Electronics-owned brand since its founding.
The leak claims that OnePlus and its parent company Oppo will announce major strategic changes, with OnePlus exiting the US and Europe while Oppo expands its own presence to fill the gap, particularly across European markets. Neither company has officially confirmed the plans.
Evidence of the pullback is already visible. In Germany, OnePlus’s online store now lists only the OnePlus 15R as an available model , its flagship OnePlus 15 and entire Nord lineup have been removed. Similar reductions have been observed across Italy, Spain, France, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
The move follows a turbulent year for the brand. A wave of shutdown rumors swept through January and was publicly denied by the CEO. Then in early July, reports emerged that future global OnePlus phones might ship with Oppo’s ColorOS instead of the brand’s signature OxygenOS, hinting at a deeper integration that now appears to be a precursor to withdrawal.
For a company that built its reputation on flagship-tier hardware at competitive prices and later expanded into premium phones, tablets, wearables, and audio, exiting two of its largest Western markets marks a dramatic reversal. The official announcement is expected within the same week as the leak.
