Well-known Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has published new details on the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, reconfirming and expanding on a series of leaks that have emerged since April 2026.
The device is expected to feature a custom flat 6.9-inch 2K OLED display with rounded corners and narrow, evenly sized bezels on all four sides, a design language consistent with Xiaomi’s recent flagship direction.
Processor
The phone will reportedly be powered by a 2-nanometer-based Snapdragon chip, continuing the trend of process-node shrinks that promise both performance gains and power efficiency improvements. Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship SoC has been widely expected to transition to a 2nm-class process, likely manufactured by TSMC.
Cameras
The camera system is the most significant departure from the previous generation. The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is expected to carry dual 200-megapixel sensors: a main shooter with LOFIC (Lateral OverFlow Integration Capacitor) technology for improved dynamic range in challenging lighting conditions, and a 200MP telephoto sensor capable of macro shots and approximately 3x optical zoom.
This marks a shift from the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max’s triple Leica-branded camera system, consolidating to two very high-resolution sensors. The LOFIC technology on the main sensor is designed to capture more detail in highlights and shadows simultaneously, an area where even large smartphone sensors can struggle.
Battery
The battery capacity is expected to exceed 8,000 milliampere-hours, with DCS citing a figure of “8K++”, understood to mean above 8,000 mAh, consistent with an earlier leak from April 9 that specified 8,500 mAh. That would represent a 13 percent increase over the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max’s 7,500 mAh cell.
Wired charging is expected at 100 watts, with wireless charging likely at 50 watts. The device is also tipped to include dual speakers and a larger haptic motor.
Price and positioning
When a commenter suggested the phone’s cost would be high, DCS responded that the price would likely reflect the specifications. The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max launched in September 2025 at 5,999 yuan (approximately US$825), and the 18 Pro Max is expected to carry a premium over that figure.
If Xiaomi follows its typical release cadence, the 18 Pro Max could launch around September 2026, alongside the standard 18 Pro and 18 models.
