ESA Industry Space Days Returns to ESTEC in September 2026
The European Space Agency will host its biennial Industry Space Days (ISD) on 16-17 September 2026 at ESA’s technical center ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands. The event serves as a business-to-business meeting point for Europe’s space sector, bringing together established prime contractors, small and medium enterprises, startups, investors, and institutional partners for two days of structured networking and commercial development.
Event Format
ISD 2026 features pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings, an exhibition hall with ESA and industry booths, keynote presentations and panel discussions with contributions from ESA leadership and senior industry executives, and workshops covering business opportunities, procurement processes, and future program activities. Organizers expect thousands of individual business meetings to take place across the two days.
The participation fee is set at 60 euros per person, covering access to the event and B2B matchmaking platform, shuttle bus services between Amsterdam and ESTEC, two lunches, and a networking reception. Exhibition stands sold out ahead of the event. Registration is open to entities and investors from ESA Member States, Associate States, and Cooperating States through the official ISD website.
ESA BIC Village
A dedicated zone within the exhibition hall, the ESA BIC Village, will host 32 startups selected from the ESA Business Incubation Center (BIC) network. Each company receives a booth for one day to present its technologies, services, and business proposals to potential customers and partners. The startups span a range of space-adjacent sectors including advanced manufacturing, satellite navigation, Earth observation applications, materials science, and maritime technology.
ESA operates 40 BIC centers across 23 European states, providing incubation support including funding, technical expertise, business coaching, and access to ESA intellectual property. The network supports more than 250 new space-based companies each year and has incubated over 2,000 startups since the program launched in 2004. ESA BIC-supported companies generated over 321 million euros in revenue in 2024, up from 186 million euros in 2020, and collectively attracted 1.64 billion euros in private investment over the five years ending in 2024. The Financial Times ranks the ESA BIC network second among European incubator programs and tenth among European startup hubs globally.
Previous Editions and Context
The 2024 Industry Space Days gathered more than 1,500 participants and generated over 10,000 pre-scheduled B2B meetings. The 2022 edition marked the return to in-person networking, reconnecting European SMEs with large prime contractors and system integrators. ISD is held biennially at ESTEC, and the 2026 edition confirms its position as a fixture in the European space industry calendar.
Industry Space Days is organized by ESA’s SME Section and is designed to complement the agency’s broader commercialization efforts. The event places particular emphasis on connecting smaller innovative companies with larger prime contractors and system integrators, addressing a gap that space startups often face when moving from prototype development to production contracts. The program also facilitates introductions between startups and venture capital firms active in the space sector.
The 2026 edition arrives as European space activity continues to expand across both institutional and commercial domains. ESA’s BIC network, which has more than 100 locations across Europe, represents what the agency describes as the largest structured incubation program focused on space anywhere in the world. The event organizers note that exhibition capacity was reached well ahead of the event dates, indicating sustained demand for face-to-face business development in the sector.
